Howdy, internet,

I meant to get to this so much earlier, but as goes the decade, so goes my week…

But for a puny peak at a few songs from this, the most overworked album since (as I’ve joked already), someone said, “Emerson, I’d like you to meet my friend Palmer…”, this Thursday eve at 8:00 (well that’s tomorrow already!), I’ll be participating in Greta Gertler Gold’s Circles of Support musical variety show on Zoom along with Roderick Hohl, Scott Stein and Greta herself doing a song & hosting (there’s also a second 9:30 set featuring Mya Byrne, Oran Etkin, and Pierre de Gaillande).

Greta (she of the Universal Thump and tons of other cool stuff) has inaugurated this series of online shows as a support mechanism to help musicians both by giving them a ‘venue’ in which to play, but financially too since so many can’t work, or work enough, due the pandemic.

The show goes for about an hour, we'll each be performing a couple songs/pieces from our respective homes etc. in rotation, followed by a chat and Q&A. We ask that everyone who attends donate something to the 'Virtual Tip Jar' during the show (suggested donation is $10; all contributions will be shared amongst the Circle musicians equally). To attend you need to RSVP ahead of time (funny that we all know the Zoom formalities now) so please contact our esteemed host, Greta at “gretagertler-at-gmail.com” (you know what to do there) for the Zoom link/login or if you have any questions.

For me, I haven’t earned money from music since Obama was newly in office, (I’m the at-home parent) so I’ll be donating my portion of the tip jar to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. Also, many of the songs on this new record are…not brief (ha). So I’ll probably be playing bits&pieces - 1st half of this song, the middle verses of that one. That sort of thing. Possibly a cover. Possibly an oldie. Clearly I’m not over-prepared.
